LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Abstract / Introduction
The Library Management System is developed to automate and efficiently manage the operations of a library. It maintains records of books, members, and transactions such as issuing and returning books, thereby reducing manual effort and minimizing errors.This system provides a user-friendly interface for both librarians and users, enabling quick book searches, tracking of issued and returned items, and effective record management. It enhances overall efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility of library services.
Functional Requirements:
1. Admin would be able to Add new books with details (title, author, ISBN, category)
2. Admin would be able to Update existing book information
3. Admin would be able to Delete book records
4. Admin would be able to Register new library members
5. Admin would be able to Update member information
6. Admin would be able to Delete member records
7. Admin would be able to Issue books to members
8. Admin would be able to Accept returned books
9. Admin would be able to Track due dates for issued books
10.Admin would be able to Calculate fines for late returns
11.Admin would be able to Maintain record of all transactions
12.Admin would be able to Generate reports for issued and returned books
13.Application will Automatically track due dates
14.Application will Automatically calculate fines
15.Application will Provide user authentication (login/logout)
16.User will be able to login and logout
17.User will be able to Search books by title, author, or category
18.User will be able to View availability status of books
